Admission Steps

This admission policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for admitting students to an inclusive Indian Cambridge School. The school is committed to providing quality education and promoting inclusivity by welcoming students with diverse learning needs.

Step 1: Eligibility Criteria:

a. Age Criteria: Students must meet the age requirements set by the school for each grade level till Grade 1.

Grade Age Group
Play Group 2 – 3 years
Nursery 3 – 4 years
LKG 4 – 5 years
UKG 5 – 6 years
Grade 1 6 – 7 years

b. Previous Education: Applicants should have completed the previous grade level or its equivalent as per the Cambridge curriculum or a recognized educational board.

c. Language Proficiency: Students are expected to have a reasonable proficiency in English, as the medium of instruction in the school is English. However, additional support will be provided for students with language difficulties.

Step 2: Application Process:

  • Submission: Parents or guardians are required to complete and submit the school’s application form along with the necessary supporting documents.
  • Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee is charged, which covers the administrative costs associated with processing the application.

Step 3: Admission Assessment:

Inclusive Evaluation: Instead of a traditional written test, the school employs an inclusive evaluation process. This process focuses on understanding each applicant’s unique abilities, strengths, and learning needs. It may include observations, interviews, and discussions with parents, as well as any available educational or medical assessments.

Step 4: Seat Availability:

Admissions are subject to seat availability in each grade level. The number of seats may vary based on factors such as classroom capacity and student-teacher ratio. The school aims to accommodate a diverse student population while ensuring an optimal learning environment.

Step 5: Priority Categories:

The school is committed to providing equal opportunities to all students, regardless of their learning needs. Therefore, no priority categories are established based on disabilities, and admissions are based on individual merit and the school’s ability to meet the student’s educational requirements.

Step 6: Selection and Notification:

  • Selection: The school’s admission committee evaluates each applicant’s inclusive evaluation results and considers their potential for growth, adaptability, and overall fit within the school’s inclusive environment.
  • Notification: Parents or guardians of selected candidates will be notified via email or official letter or phone call. They will be given a specific time frame to confirm their acceptance of the admission offer.

Step 7: Admission Confirmation:

  • Acceptance and Fee Payment: To secure admission, parents or guardians need to confirm their acceptance of the offer and pay the required admission fee within the specified deadline.
  • Documents: Parents or guardians must submit all necessary documents, such as birth certificates, academic records, and health information, before the student’s enrollment.

Step 8: Waiting List:

In the event that all available seats are filled, deserving applicants may be placed on a waiting list. If a seat becomes available, the school will notify the next candidate on the waiting list.

Step 9: Admission Policy Review:

The school administration reserves the right to review and modify the admission policy as required. Any changes will be communicated to parents or guardians through official channels.
